2018-05-04 00:42:00 | I am well used to dealing with Spam and most often I use "Rules" in Xtra webmail. However every day I get a variety of Spam from the same source for gambling, selling hearing suggestions etc. They use all kinds of sources, including at Reddit.Com, Tumblr.Com, etc etc. The only common thing is that the addressee shown is m_jackson@xtra.co.nz. How can I fix this one please? I could approach Spark and they might close down the m_jackson account, but then they will just set up another. The emails at the bottom "unsbcribe" mis-spelt, however I feel not safe doing that as in this instance it might open more doors for them. The place it is coming from is Effingham, Il (which I presume is Illinois, USA.). Tried to set up a "Rule" to discard anything with Effingham in the content, but that did not work.

2018-05-04 00:51:00 | If you use A Program Like Mailwasher which checks your mail before it comes in you can blacklist either a domain, or email address, set it to Spam / Auto Delete. You may get it come through once or twice but after that when mailwasher learns it will automatically delete the mail, you wont even see them. This is of course if you are getting mails through to your Computer Via a program, Outlook, Thunderbird etc.

2018-05-04 02:53:00 | Since Xtramail left Yahoo, spam mail has increased a lot. Their spam filter doesn't work as good as the old one. What I do is, just delete them manually, live with it.

2018-05-04 03:17:00 | The best spam filter is gmails. Apart from having no spam, a huge mailbox, you never have to change your email address again.. Really, why bother with ISP email.

2018-05-04 04:55:00 | I use the Gmail web based email to check my xtra E-mail as well, it's easy enough to add other accounts in the settings on that website. I get bugger all Spam. A bit more complicated but I also set up a flag and a filter so all my xtra E-mails are marked and easy to Identify. I've been in the process of migrating to Gmail for many years now :) just a few remaining things still using my old xtra email address.

The one that starts "I use Gmail web based" please. PJ |

2018-05-04 09:07:00 | I am well used to dealing with Spam and most often I use "Rules" in Xtra webmail. I have also been plagued by these over the last two weeks or so. m jackson is not the sender but merely one of the recievers. I have dealt with it by going to the xtra settings in my email and making up a rule to send all the emails to spam. They change their domain from time to time so rules don't work for long if you base the rule on this. If you look at the first part of the email address, it seems to be always the same so use this in the rule to filter out the emails. I am a little surprised that Xtra hasn't dealt with this spam, but then again, maybe not surprised 'cos their service wrt this issue is crap.
