1450645	2018-06-19 21:59:00	If they did why haven't they been back in the last 50 years:confused: the same reasons they cancelled the last 2 planned Apollo missions to the moon - it was too expensive - the general public didnt care after a few landings - the race was won. It was a race against the Russians, thats the reason the US went. US wanted to one-up the Russians . Add to that how dangerous it was. eg: It was only luck that no Apollo Astronaut was fried by solar flares . So Dangerous that 3 Apollo Astronauts were killed on the ground , burnt alive in the capsule.	1101 (13337)

The moon may now be taking on strategic significance as the wartime climate heats up on Earth with a waning America and a rampant China. Just like all the other bodies in the Universe there is very little reason to go there anymore as the Earth has everything we need, and also is all the Universe will offer, we are just over-populated, unless we find another Earth close enough to get to in reasonable time, we won't be going off-world in any significant way ever.
