We have a shelter place in the yard where we hang clothes when raining and inside the conservatory we use those warehouse clothe lines.

1451166 2018-07-05 11:04:00 I do not own a drier because it causes wear and tear on the clothes.
I put a load of washing in the washing machine at least once a day. I have a drying rack in the kitchen. My clothesline is mainly used for drying towels and sheets. I sometimes put all clothing outside if the weather is right.

1451167 2018-07-06 08:24:00 No drier in my place, but fairly low laundry needs (only 2 retired folk here), and I installed lots of internal lines in the garage, so it is a very rare day that I resort to using the outside line.

Having sheets hanging by the car door is a mild nuisance, but a lot less bother than having rain or birds 'spotting' washing on an outside line.

1451168 2018-07-08 09:17:00 A long time ago when I lived in a unit, one of two. I mostly hung clthes on the line or in the garage depending on the weather. Next door was another single bloke (scruffy sod). He ALWAYS hung his clothes on line when it rained & brought them in when they had dried. I aske the nextdoor neighbour why the bloke did this. She said....He hasnt got a washing machine so he hangs them out to wash in the rain, In the summer he hangs clothes up dirty & blasts them with the garden hose. PJ. Poppa John (284)

Gave me an idea - maybe blast our sheets and towels with my stihl leaf blower I bought recently. I used blowers to blast out my car interior. Works great and quick. Wonder if they have heated hand held blowers for clothes drying....

Also clothing can get stolen when hung out. I have known some that have - usually younger people with missing branded/trendy clothing. I recall decades ago where a young man got arrested for stealing women's garments...

1451170 2018-07-17 10:20:00 I mainly use the clothes line , then if not fully dry a Clothes horse " inside.
Many of my clothes would shrink if I used the dryer so that option is impractical.

1451171 2018-07-22 01:32:00 I use a drier and the clothes line for towels and mats.
But its a pain on the line as you often get caught out with the rain for days and then do clothes to wear.

But it is amazing how much "lint" get into the driers filter
