| 1449201 | 2018-05-18 09:27:00 | I just upgraded my two self built desktops yesterday with no problems. Took about 45 minutes for each one. I am so pleased that they finally removed Homegroups as I stopped using them 3 years ago and they really annoyed me popping up all the tiime. |

Properties/Disk Cleanup/Clean up system files? Too late now. I decided to do a clean install after my last post here |

| 1449203 | 2018-06-28 21:23:00 | I just built a new PC and installed the latest Windows 10 on it. I am not very good with networks and it took me a whole day to get two machines working together. Partly because I am old school and think of my two machines as a Network. My new machine connected to the internet easily. But getting File sharing between the two was very hard. Everything seems hidden away WorkGroups is hard to find And I was unable to see files on one machine from the other (but vice versa worked OK) Then I found this thread again.... And I used Wainuitech's tip about Services - Function Discovery Resource Publication Service. When I made this Automatic on both machines my file sharing worked perfectly!!! Surely it should be turned on when File Sharing is Enabled. What is wrong with Windows that this is set to manual How would the average person ever find this solution? |

Just far too many issues making it harder than it needed to be master browser issues, printer sharing nightmares(not wins fault there) , bugs there since vista all the way to 8.1, pass/permissions complications ..... Sure , if a professional IT tech its easier. But for the Av person , god help you if you run into any issues :badpc: |
