1449190 2018-05-03 12:27:00 And MS were too lazy to add the windows.old folder, in disk cleanup so you could remove it.

I couldn't remove it, unless i changed from system to myself to delete it

So, I did a clean install instead. And I was wrong with the above. You have to change the service to auto after updating to 1803 as well. To see the shared folder

If you have run "System disk clean up" that folder will be empty so there is no point worrying about it.

1449197 2018-05-04 03:07:00 Nope. Just checked the 3rd PC that I upgraded to 1803. Previous windows isnt there either Speedy Gonzales (78)
1449198 2018-05-15 13:41:00 Actually Microsoft on this: "Haha, classic". I noticed that there's better not to trust Win updates right after 7-to-10 update got my HDD formatted, so now I'm storing all my documents in Box, in order to share them between devices. Sme work papers, tax forms, all this stuff. And speaking of pdf's exactly, there are lots of solutions to work with them, edit and store safely nowadays: Acrobat XI, some tools like Foxit, I use this one [edited] fits nice for all those pieces of paper you fill every tax period, but has some pretty good editor as well. But this thing with totally replacing homegroups with File Explorer is a frustrating move - I try to cast a movie to the second laptop and it pops up with an error all the time! jackthelad (17612)

Its there for a reason. Its so you can rollback to the previous 10 version/build
Win should remove it eventually. Supposedly .

No point getting obsessed with it. Stop fiddling . Just ignore it unless you are desperate for more HD space
