1451230 2018-07-05 07:40:00 Here is blurb about the new Office Interface

gadgets.ndtv.com

They have redesigned the ribbon

What they really mean, is that no one liked the ribbon, and no one could find anything.
So rather than go back to the old menu system we are adding some colours and newly designed icons.

What colours have they added, I thought nature only gave us 7 colours?
Don't they mean new shades.

MS believe you don't need shades with all the wool they're pulling over your eyes. ;)

Yawn. You know exactly what they mean, as does everyone else.

7?
Hell no. 3

All else is a blend of them or the absence of colour.

That was exactly what I thought

Why don't they just say, we've redesigned the user interface.
To make it easier to understand and look like the rest of Windows
Or people just want a system that is powerful and easy to use.
Or People said they did not like the old ribbon system, as they could not find anything quickly.

1451236 2018-07-11 03:18:00 They had trouble finding an answer that was not legally risky, totally offensive, or highly derogatory to MS and their products so they turned on the random platitude generator and published the drivel. It's their preferred modus operandi since the eighties.
(Grandma would state "If you can't say something honest and pleasant, either say nothing or talk gibberish".)

1451237 2018-07-11 04:03:00 I barely used the ribbon, but made extensive use of the Quick access toolbar. Mind you I use Office 2007 for personal use, and 2016 for work.
I guess you need to be a reasonably heavy user to have it make sense, or have a gamers mind to explore where everything is
