1451145 2018-07-03 00:14:00 I wonder how many people still put their washing out on the line, or do they put it in the dryer no matter what the weather?

We still put our clothes out on the line and if it's raining we put the clothes on a line we have under cover.

Very rarely do we put the washing in the dryer. Only when it has been raining for a few days and we need the clothes as soon as.

What do you do? Do you still put your washing out to dry?

1451147 2018-07-03 00:59:00 Sometimes on a nice day in summer I hang it out. Most of the time though I hang it in the laundry and put the stuff I need the next day in the dryer.
It's a bad habit I got from always forgetting to do the laundry until late on a sunday when I needed my work clothes the next day.

1451148 2018-07-03 01:46:00 Just about always gets hung out - if it's persisting down, it gets hung on the drying frame in the bathroom

Do have an old drier - but that only gets used very rarely in "emergencies"

Also towels, I don't actually like towels dried in the dryer...so even if wet I hang them in the garage.
Takes a couple of days but they get there.....

Clothes, well with 4 people now...yes some clothes do go in the dryer when it's wet...

1451150 2018-07-03 02:41:00 Being a power Nazi, it all goes on the line. Don't care if it's pissing down, at some point it'll stop. I have no issue hanging washing on the line in the rain.

Only once this year have I had to chuck 'smalls' in the dryer due to having to leave the house for work.

Currently got 3 towels on the line, been there since last Thursday night and there they shall remain. If they get 98% dry, I might chuck 'em in the dryer for 10mins to finish. But only if I've run out.

1451151 2018-07-03 02:50:00 Don't even own a dryer, but to be honest at this time of year, if we did, I'm sure everything would go in there, even though I'd like to say they wouldn't.... :p wratterus (105)
1451152 2018-07-03 03:26:00 Dryers use a lot of power, but only for a short amount of time. I use mine once a week for 90 mins and it adds < $3 total onto my monthly power bill, not something I'm going to worry about.
But it's just me doing my washing once a week, if you have a lot of people in your household it could be enough to worry about.

1451153 2018-07-03 05:31:00 Whenever possible laundry is hung outside. I own a dryer but it only gets used occasionally. However, it can be a sanity saver when we have visitors.
We have a very dry house and things get dry or mostly dry overnight if they are hung in the basement.
