| 1450952 | 2018-06-25 23:24:00 | We have had a few salesmen over the last few months come to our front door trying to sell us Sky . They say that they have a great offer including all the sport you can eat . But what if you are not interested in sport? We would be very interested in National Geographic, UKTV and other channels similar to that but the offers are only with sport . There is plenty of sport on the evening news and that is enough for us . So it seems that if sport is not your thing then Sky does not have all that much to offer . So we stick to free-to-air television and there is usually enough there to keep us watching most evenings . Sometimes there is more than one programme on at the same time so we record one to watch later . And if there is nothing worth watching we have plenty of material to read . So that is why we don't have Sky . |

| 1450954 | 2018-06-26 00:18:00 | I've never had sky for exactly that reason, I'm not a sports fan and all the packages they offer are 99% stuff I don't want. On the other hand, I have Netflix & Lightbox and just cancelled Amazon Video(not enough content in NZ). For a fraction of the cost I get a lot more that I like to watch. All 3 services add up to ~ $40 a month if you pay for all 3, I get lightbox with my internet plan so it's less than $25 all up and without Amazon down to $15 If you are a sports fan or are in an area where satellite is the only option then sky might be worthwhile, for anyone else I see no value in it. |

This is what we watch, the doco channels. Husband watches Al Jezeera and BBC news too, I watch Food occasional and sometimes UKTV. It's $58 a month. There is an Aussie crowd going to come apparently (when?) which is similar but cheaper, but I am not interested in having to hunt out this stuff and then download nor standard TV soap operas etc, so happy to stick with basic Sky. Even after we move, my mum has basic sky, we'll get multiroom. |

I subscribe to Netflix (HD option) and I can also share with 3 others. One of the 3 "others" also subscribes to Lightbox, and in turns shares that with me. Total cost <$20 monthly; by and large I can watch what I want, when I want. |

| 1450958 | 2018-06-26 02:49:00 | I am not into sport, so I have never bothered with Sky As mentioned above there are lots of goods docos on Youtube I do wish Freeview would include BBC World and CNN and Fox News. Al Jazeera is OK sometimes, but it isa very biased towards Arab news |

| 1450960 | 2018-06-26 08:01:00 | New FBI criminal pursuit doco series on sky - which I like - quite interesting to watch how US DA's, sheriffs, state troopers, and special agents interact. Also for car DIY's, e.g. Fantomworks, and the many car restoration doco's, and classic car auctions are quite interesting. Get to see new welding/in-depth repair techniques. Lately also been watching some of the quaint country style BBC British detective shows. The one (Inspector Gentry) with actor Martin Shaw from the 70's The Professionals, also Wycliffe, Midsomer Murders, etc. As said above - each to his own. |

| 1450961 | 2018-06-26 08:11:00 | I watch either on demand or my free VPN gives me a huge range of world wide stuff to watch. Our tv is hanging on the wall and hasn't even been plugged in for a year, we just use our laptops. However when we move into our new place when I build it we will have freeview and maybe netflix on the tv, but in the tiny home it isn't worth it. | gary67 (56) | ||
