875302 2010-04-11 23:59:00 I am on the look out for a new Laptop - general/professional use; currently using Toshiba Satellite . However, when it comes to basic awareness application, I'm a lot confused with the tricky CPU speed claims and FSB bottlenecks hidden behind them .

Recently read some good comments in the Forum made by Wainuitech on an ASUS Laptop thread and other comments . It appears as a result that there is always a risk to take with buying, choice, experience and luck .

However, as I give so much weight to our real experts here gifted by PCWorld, I wish to ask them for being an ordinary person - please indicate who I sholuld go for - Acer, ASUS, Dell, Toshiba etc . . . Thanks .

x2 - And don't buy anything without a Core i3/i5/i7 - they're so much better in terms of value for money than the older Core 2 technology.

Depends on your budget/intended use as always, but something like this (www.computerlounge.co.nz) as an entry-level laptop, or one of the new HP ProBooks (h10010.www1.hp.com) (if you don't mind HP) with a Core i5 CPU.
