875297 2010-04-11 23:29:00 Firefox has encountered a problem and needs to close.
This message started occurring a few weeks back and gets progressively worse.
Most mornings I start by checking news at news.yahoo.com
Somedays I get the error, some days I don’t.
It happens with some other sites some days and not others and some sites seem to be no problem.

e.g.
TVNZ breaking news is ok but going to a link from there will set off the message

I often get the message when going to a link off another page.

I have tried Internet explorer and while it is much better it too is encountering similar problems. I have tried an old version of netscape it only occasionally gets the problem.

Is there an easy solution to this?

Regards,

875298 2010-04-11 23:36:00 Uninstall it.
Download a newer (or older if already newest) version of it and try again.

875299 2010-04-11 23:55:00 Have you scanned the PC with up-to-date antivirus and antimalware tools?
Alternatively, if it's happening across multiple browsers, there may be a common plugin (e.g. Flash) causing the issue that needs to be reinstalled.

875300 2010-04-12 02:49:00 I have had the same problem for weeks as well, happens any time any site, Thunderbird does it as well, tho not so often. IE does not appear to do it. RunnIng MSE etc. Arnie (6624)
875301 2010-04-12 08:24:00 In the past I had no problems with FF until versions 3.6+ came along. One of its problems was to run as a process instead of closing & then refusing to reload until I stopped the process in the Task Manager. This happened with XP & W7.

I am now using "Sea Monkey" from the same people, uses FF add ons and launches much faster, with no problem so far.
