Yup - he's been playing the same pentatonic licks for 25 years.

Dave Mustaine is even worse though :yuck:

His rhythm playing has always been great agreed, but his soloing sucks the root; Holy Wars . . . . The Punishment Due is a great example: absolute killer signature riffs for both parts of the song, and some of Marty Friedmans best soloing, and then Dave's double-time stuff near the end of the song is just plain awful - screechy, repetitive nonsense .

Most of Countdown To Extinction a year later follows the same formula! :p

Yup - Rust In Peace is a dead-set classic; Holy Wars was one of the songs (along with War Pigs) that inspired me to pick up the guitar.
