You can just install it and then schedule it to automatically image to any location windows can access when you want it to - provided the source and destination are both on and available at the time of course.

Advanced Workstation adds, essentially, network management where you get a nice admin panel you'd install on a machine and then you can push images out or pull them in remotely, and it can support PXE boot. Personally, for a small business, standard Workstation is fine, just means you need to boot off a CD instead of PXE if you have a failure and need to recover.

The Universal Restore add-on option allows you to restore to different hardware.

876075 2010-04-13 21:10:00 That Symantec software, is that the progression of Ghost Corporate? I used that back in the day, it was freakin cool!

No - Symantec bought out the previous owners, Veritas. I use Backup Exec for our Windows environment and it is pretty nice - very comprehensive feature set, and deals well with pesky issues like files being in use because someone forgot to log off a PC.

876076 2010-04-13 23:04:00 From my own testing with Acronis and ShadowProtect, ShadowProtect is much better.
It is the fastest of the two, their support is better and it doesn't seem to use as much system resources when running backups in the background.
They also continually update their recovery disc so if you ever need to do a recovery, or move a backup image to a new box, chances are you won't need to supply any drivers during the process.
