790265 2009-07-11 03:07:00 It's not really an OS - it's a web browser which runs directly on computer hardware. There is some speculation that Google has announced it to distract people from Microsoft's pending announcement on Monday (www.istartedsomething.com)
Well it is going to be Linux based so I would call it an operating system and that will also mean you can add whatever you want(Linux wise) to it within reason.

790266 2009-07-12 08:24:00 A really exciting move !

I can think of a number of apps that could be useful, businesses will love it, work flow will improve..the list goes on.

I saw graphic sharing, but will audio sharing be part of it too ? I do music creation and could see this as a collaborative tool that will have instant results. Could revolutionize song writing.

Then call it a cloud O/S.
Personally the entire idea gives me the shudders.
But then I like my independence and privacy.

Being Linux based you should be able to add it so that it becomes more than just a cloud OS.
It's the cold down there making you shudder. It's actually called shivering.

790270 2009-07-12 10:33:00 Of course the internet goes down - and up, left and even goes right sometimes. R2x1 (4628)
790271 2009-07-12 11:02:00 Actually if you're with Vodafone on an iPhone, you've got 3GB bonus free this month and for the next 3 months ... Thanks Vodafone! :D

...still lookin to switch to 2o potentially :-/

Anyways, what would Google deliberately add in to a Linux OS that would potentially be bad, and why?
