| 875119 | 2010-04-11 06:39:00 | After watching something, in IE from "Youtube". If I want to keep it. I can do so from "View Files" As Firefox is a totally foreign browser, to me. Can somebody please tell to find it ? Have used their "help" now for about a hour, to no avail. I know I'm a thick old fart. But. how to do it?.... Please folks ! Regards. Bryan.:confused: |

(you will only need to do the following once to set it up for use) first, to find your cache location, type (or copy paste is easier) about:cache in your FF address bar and hit go (or enter) In the Info page you will see Disk cache device copy the full path of your Cache Directory which will be something like C:\Documents and Settings\*****\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\*******\Cache and then past it in a folder address bar and hit go or enter, and you should be in the cache folder now click the folder "view" from the menu and set it to Details click the "Date Modified" so the newest entry is at the top (arrow points down) Right then - that's it prepared, so now hit the UP button to go up to the next folder level, and look for the Cache folder - right click and drag it to your desktop and drop - and choose Create Shortcuts Here from the menu Finished! phew Now, any time you want to save a movie clip you have just watched, just use the shortcut you made to open the Cache folder and the movie clip will be at the top (or very near the top) - just look at the size of file to make sure. (All filenamess in the cache are random characters like CCCD8634d01 and have no file extension, which is why you look at the filesize to check - most files are less than 100 KB, movie clip ones are of course much bigger) So just right click on it and select copy - then right click on your desktop (or wherever) and paste - then rename it, adding the .flv extension Reading this may seem complicated, but it's actually very easy, especially once you have the shortcut set up hope that helps - cheers :) |
