2010-04-11 01:16:00 | I am running the above and have been since I installed Win7 about 3 weeks ago. Now, one monitor is refusing to light up. I can see it in setup, I have all the latest drivers for the 2 Dell monitors and the card. I noted that the Nividia drivers on the latest PCWorld DVD were buggy so picked up a later version from their site. When I switch on the monitor, I get the black screen then "Auto detect-entering power save" The card appears to being running fine-both GPU are seen in the system specs and are currently running at around 72 degrees which is normal for this card. I swop the cables over and the other monitor becomes the bad guy. I know that there will be several things that could be wrong and impossible to diagnose here but am hoping that someone with a similar setup has seen this prob and knows the answer. cheers

2010-04-11 01:26:00 | Did you uninstall the PCworld drivers, before you installed the ones off the site?? You didnt install the buggy ones that will fry the videocard if its got a fan did you? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2010-04-11 01:28:00 | they took them down from their site as soon as they found out about them being bad | nedkelly (9059) | |
2010-04-11 01:52:00 | I rolled back the system to a time prior to the install and then got the drivers from the nividia site. I have missed any info on the card being fried [ any links to that ? ] The point about a spare cable sounds likely and will try that this week [ another visit to my local computer guy ] Did you uninstall the PCworld drivers, before you installed the ones off the site?? You didnt install the buggy ones that will fry the videocard if its got a fan did you?

2010-04-11 02:41:00 | the links gave me something to try re: hardware acceleration and I note that on the troubleshoot tab in monitor/properties, the change settings is grayed out--a sympton of a particular problem ? | KMoA (2743) | |
2010-04-11 02:48:00 | Not all gfx cards support HW acceleration. So, its probably normal. The driver probably doesnt support it. As Ned said, the link to the buggy drivers were removed from the Nvidia site. Info about that version, will probably be in Google somewhere / on different sites | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
