877056 2010-04-16 00:21:00 I have a Dell Vostro Notebook with W7 pro.
Because I use a Mouse, and my thumbs sometimes touch the pad when typing, I wish to disable it.

Device manager only gives me the option to uninstall, Disable is faded out.
The Mouse Icon in Control Panel does the same.
Its not in gpedit.msc
Its not in Services.

I don't want to uninstall it in-case I don't have the mouse with me.

is there not one of those on dell laptops?

877061 2010-04-16 05:23:00 Alps driver was not installed, did that, now entry in start list, Disabled, rebooted, windows installed another driver, pad working again!!!!!!

Dell say Disable in Mouse/Hardware, but Disable button still not available.

Will try BIOS.
