876527 2010-04-14 16:27:00 I lent (lended-loaned?) my Eee p/c to friend and she went to her GMail account . No prob there .

Now I get her GMail notices on it and I'm not using her account . It shows up on MY ACCOUNT when I'm logged in or not .

I can read the toast-popup teasers although I cannot open them (natch :devil) - but I can't remember where the setting is to shut that off!

Anybody got a clue how to turn her toast OFF?

876528 2010-04-14 21:01:00 Did she install Google Talk, or use a plugin like Gmail Checker Plus? Chilling_Silence (9)
876529 2010-04-15 02:14:00 All my computers run GTalk and I cannot find GMail Checker in her addons anywhere. It's not in her - or my - Tools either.

Somehow she'd gotten her account to call me and let me know it's got something in her inbox.

I'll do some Googl'ing-around and check but I really though this might be a quickie. Alas!

876530 2010-04-15 02:38:00 it would not be gmail notifier would it? nedkelly (9059)

I can't find one that is installed by any of the computers - and remember that only ONE of the machines does this - my Eee/pc with Win7 . :waughh:

It doesn't happen in reverse - only telling me that she has mail . I don't want to read about Care & Feeding Of House Cats and Growing Better Petunias .

Remember that I only get to see the teaser on the toast - I cannot actually open the mail since I am not signed on and wouldn't want to read her mail anyway - boring as it is .

Where else can I look? I Googled and got nada .

876532 2010-04-15 07:11:00 just wondering what do you mean by toast? nedkelly (9059)
876533 2010-04-15 07:32:00 Toast, like messed up, had it. Netsukeninja (13296)
876534 2010-04-15 07:40:00 Toasts are the little messages which (usually) slide up from the bottom of the screen, much the same way a slice of toast pops up out of a toaster, hence the name. Agent_24 (57)
876535 2010-04-15 07:50:00 gmail notifier is not an addon it is a standalone program, will be in start menu.

Thanks Ned - that's where it was! In Windows programs!

Now I learned something too! I 'toasted' it and it is gone .

Again, thanks for the info .
