877191 2010-04-16 08:08:00 No laptop is not the models shown on the Fujitsu website karbren (14078)
877192 2010-04-16 08:21:00 Cannot access hdd as it returns to the same message screen, won't accept Product recovery cd/dvd that came with the computer, when you go through F12 and select cd drive. karbren (14078)
877193 2010-04-16 08:28:00 Probably have to remove the SATA hdd from the laptop then.

Then connect the hdd from the laptop to one of the SATA ports. You may have to change the bootdisk in the BIOS to the XP hdd. Then boot into XP, copy the winload.exe file you copied to the flash drive to the SATA hdd you just connected

877195 2010-04-16 09:16:00 There is another way without removing the laptops HDD and slaving. The below is the same thing as copying from one to the other but no need to remove the HDD.

Go to the working Vista, copy the winload.exe from the working Machine to a USB drive.

Put the USB drive in the unbootable Laptop , Boot from the Vista recovery CD - if you dont have one you can download it from This site (techblissonline.com) and burn the ISO file to CD using a ISO burning program, Put the CD in the Laptop thats broken and boot from the CD - when it boots, select Command prompt.

Little bit of guess work here -- Assuming the OS is on the C drive and the optical drive is D , you have to find what drive the USB is.( thats the hardest part)

At the command prompt, type in E <press Enter> type in dir , <press enter> If the usb drive is E it will show the files, if not try F, and repeat dir, Repeat again with the next letter ( G) if not F untill you get the USB drive.

(Assuming its E)

At the command prompt type E < press Enter>

Then type in copy winload.exe c:\windows\system32 <Press enter>

type Y if it asks to over write.

You should get a message saying "copied 1 file"

type in exit < press enter>

Boot the laptop as normal, as long as thats the only damaged file(s) it should now boot normally.

877196 2010-04-16 10:15:00 I have found the winload.exe files but there are so many I actually am confused as to which one I copy unless i am in the wrong search? karbren (14078)
877197 2010-04-16 10:21:00 There should only be one - can you see the .exe after the file name ? if not you need to go into folder options, untick "Hide extensions for known file types".

Its in C:\windows\system32 folder

This Example (www.imagef1.net.nz) this is from a W7 PC, but same location
