| 877101 | 2010-04-16 04:10:00 | My wifi speed on my hp dv5 laptop dropped from 100mbps to 54mbps. Very slow internet. Works fine on LAN. Other computers are at normal speed. No viruses detected using NOD32. Have used CCleaner. Used to be very fast. Same speed with computer next to router. | 877102 | 2010-04-16 04:22:00 | 100 will be for the ethernet not the wireless. Wireless is only 54 (if its wireless G), it doesnt go to 100. Thats probably why it went from 100 to 54 (if you've disconnected the LAN / ethernet). If the wireless is too slow, its probably too far from the router.Log looks alright to me | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
| 877103 | 2010-04-16 04:39:00 | Yes that is right. But the internet is very slow even when it is right next to the router. It used to be fast. | dagangsta (14229) | ||

Atheros created their own standard called "Super G" and "Super A/G" which runs at 108Mbit. (on both 802.11a and 802.11g) Realtek also created their own "Turbo Mode" 802.11g which runs at 72Mbit. Both are backward compatible with standard 54Mbit hardware. |
