876846 2010-04-15 09:17:00 Hello Folks!

Yesterday I downloaded a whole lot of new updates from Microsoft, all of which apparently installed successfully except one coded KB979683, which repeatedly asks to be installed. It's driving me nuts! Has anybody else encountered this annoying item and knows either how to get rid of or fix it?

Help would be much appreciated.

Steve

876852 2010-07-09 15:24:00 I have the same problem with windows update KB979683 but my computer is running Vista with Service Pak 2. It just keeps installing the update. My update log shows the update successfully installed about 20 times. Can anybody help me, Microsoft support does not seem to be able to help me?Any help would be appreciated. I also came across a Microsoft security bulletin MS10-21 but I'm not that computer savey so I'm at a loss.
Thanks

876853 2010-07-09 21:35:00 Did you try the fix in Speedy's post it says it's for Vista as well gary67 (56)
876854 2010-07-10 15:05:00 I read the fix but I'm not that great with computers so I really don't understand the fix with talking about "Catroot 2" and I did not see any mention of Vista. sporty87 (15729)
