877994 2010-04-19 04:43:00 I have a HP Pavillion DV5 1004ax and the moment I turn (Cold) I go on speedfan and it shows 70-87 degreesC. It also overheats and hibernates. I dont think its the dust because I got it cleaned out about a month ago. The guy said that hp put the cpu and graphics card to close together so now it overheats. HP just says take it to the service center but I'm not going from hamilton to parlmistion north. No viruses and have re-installed windows. dagangsta (14229)
877995 2010-04-19 04:49:00 You sure its not shutting off if its overheating?? It should be. Cant do much else if you dont want to take it in. Or take it back to whatever shop. Tell them to fix it. What does the BIOS say for the temp? Speedy Gonzales (78)
877996 2010-04-19 04:51:00 The Bios has no temp reading and the guy at the shop said that it would cost about $600!!! dagangsta (14229)
877997 2010-04-19 05:00:00 Is it still under warranty? If it is then take it back Speedy Gonzales (78)
