| 877715 | 2010-04-18 04:23:00 | Hi there, my partners laptop is a dell vostro 1500 and is running windows xp pro. For some reason the " key and the @ key are switched around. Can any one help us out on how to turn them back to the normal configuration. We are not sure why but possibly because she selected uk language when setting it up originally. Any help would be much appreciated. |

| 877716 | 2010-04-18 04:41:00 | Start>>Control Panel Regional & Language Options Languages (this is a tab) Details Default Input Language In the 'Default Input Language' dropdown, make sure you've selected something ending with 'US' - that is the correct keyboard layout. You probably want something like 'English (New Zealand) - US' or 'English (United Kingdom) - US'. If the input type you want isn't listed, you can click the 'Add' button in the area below to add it - remember to choose 'US' as the keyboard layout. Once you've selected that, click every OK button in sight, and you should be back in business. Edit: This post assumes that your keyboard has the @ symbol on the same key as the number 2. If yours is the other way around (the " symbol on the same key as the 2) then you need to select the UK / Britisk keyboard layout, not the US one. |
