| 793459 | 2009-07-24 04:44:00 | Why do you keep describing these students as drunk? They were on the last night of their Gold Coast holiday & said themselves they "had been drinking." Well, surprise, surprise! But who - apart from you - has suggested they were in the kind of drunken state which entitled the police to use force on them? Why make such assumptions simply on your own guesswork? Or is there something I've missed? |

| 793463 | 2009-08-03 02:33:00 | "While Queensland police maintained yesterday that the couple had to appear at Southport Magistrates Court today (Aug 3) charged with obstruction, Ms Pohatu said they were advised by the court that they were not expected as they should have appeared on Monday, July 20, the day after they flew back to New Zealand. In failing to do so they forfeited their bond and now have convictions." "Yesterday, Mr Blake's partner, Zowi Shaw, said she backed the Whakatane couple's version of events." (Blake was the original injured man they were helping.) www.nzherald.co.nz |

If they were really innocent they would have gone back to Aussie to defend charges. People here pretty quick to blame police good thing these people now have a criminal charge and wont be able to ever leave NZ. |
