| 877761 | 2010-04-19 01:12:00 | You said you got the game from a friend. Is it on the original disk or a copy. If it is a copy no one can help you here. Read forum rules. :) |

| 877765 | 2010-04-19 11:27:00 | Right ok, well got into the system with teamviewer, to see what was coming up in event viewer. Problem it wasnt available lol. So went to services, the service was disabled. Tried to start it, error 4201. WMI data provider prob. Fix, according to this (social.answers.microsoft.com) 1) Used msconfig to switch to safe mode boot 2) Booted to safe mode 3) ran cmd.exe as an administrator 4) typed "cd C:\Windows\System32\LogFiles\WMI" 5) typed "rename RtBackup RtBackup2" 6) Used msconfig to switch to normal boot mode 7) Reboot and found event viewer working Tried to do it while I was there. No go. So, got Smith to reboot and do it in safe mode. Waiting for another pw, to log in again. To see what it says, when I try and install this game |

| 877766 | 2010-04-19 20:02:00 | It looks like this game (as soon as you install it), installs steam (or tries to over the net). That's why it takes so long for it to do anything According to some sites (inc the Relic site - is it a Relic game game ?), people are getting frustrated by this. Because everytime they try and install it, all its saying is server busy (so you'll never get steam - ( it needs steam before it even starts), so you'll never be able to install it, or play it. So, the 1st thing I would do, is go to the steam site, whatever its called, then download the steam install file then install it. Then try again. Something may work then |

| 877768 | 2010-04-20 11:46:00 | Well, think we figured it out. Games for Windows Live wouldn't install. Brought up an error. I couldnt find out why. It didnt say anything, anywhere else. Looks like you have to download, then install steam, (to save you waiting forever), then go to its folder. Create a shortcut (of steam.exe), put it on the desktop. Right mouse / properties, add -install d: to the end of whats already there (under target, or whatever letter the DVD is, but it SHOULD be d). Then run it, then the activation wizard comes up. Put the key in (Smith did, but Smith's mate's info is still linked to it). And it wouldnt activate. So, Smith will have to wait till he deactivates it (if you can do that), to see if it'll work. So, I have no idea, why there's an autorun or setup file on the DVD. Because, the bloody thing doesnt do anything, but complain you'll get this error: (The Installation of the Game failed to Complete. Please Try again) And you'll be there forever trying to install this game, if you try and install it this way. I dont know if its because its 64 bit. It maybe |
