793850 2009-07-22 01:29:00 Or maybe that liberal [edited] of a judge will have him released in next few months for good behavior and over-population.

Or he can be more productive in prison and share his knowledge with the inmates in exchange for keeping his a$$ in one piece... :D

793853 2009-07-22 02:29:00 I want to wait till sentencing...
Mark my words, he'll spend less than 5 years in prison!
(Less than 5 hours till his butthole is big enough to fit the skytower!!! :D)

Your last comment is arrogant and ignorant.

793854 2009-07-22 02:35:00 What I don't understand is what his Lawyer (who reminds me of beaker off the muppets), was thinking taking on this case. She was a high profile lawyer who had a lot of respect, and defending this guy must have done her some damage. I doubt it was for the money, which I assume would be tax payer funded due to legal aid.
I had no doubt this would be the result of a fair jury. However in these days of political correctness gone mad, nothing would surprise me.

Defence Counsel don't need to have an opinion about guilt or innocence. Their task is to present the best case possible on behalf of their client. A right to a defence is a basic right of our legal system, as I'm sure you would agree, if you were ever to charged with a crime. Judith Ablett-Kerr QC is a very able legal counsel and her reputation will be harmed not one whit by doing the job she is trained for. I doubt whether Weatherston would have been on legal aid.
By the way I am pleased the jury came to find Weatherston guilty. But please don't raise unfair criticism of those other Court officers who ensure that everybody in our society, who is charged with a crime, gets a fair hearing. That's how the system works.

Ah sorry mate, I meant Judge Elias of the Supreme Court/Chief Justice, and not the judge presiding over this case.
