| 878206 | 2010-04-19 15:30:00 | I have four (4) entries in my startup file tha I can not remove with Start Cop. The files have the names: *- *-- *. and *.. Has anyone had this problem? If I try to deactavate or pack for removal I can not mark them. They all point to an empty program file. |

| 878210 | 2010-04-19 23:47:00 | From the application providers home page Changes in Version 1 . 1: NOTE: Be sure to uninstall v1 . 0 before installing this version . - In Windows XP, Startup Cop reported three spurious files (* . , * . . , and *desktop . ini) for each of the two Start menu startup groups . The first two were due to the fact that it assumed a the Startup folder would have only the Directory attribute - in XP, it also has the Read-only attribute . The last is a legitimate non-launching file that identifies the folder as "special" to Windows . Now Startup Cop correctly identifies directories even when they have other attributes, and ignores files that have hidden or system attributes . So basically, it appears that Stuff-up Cop is telling you there are invalid entries there that don't exist . As far as I can tell, the update to fix this problem is nearly 7 years old . |
