| 878010 | 2010-04-19 05:54:00 | Hi Guys A few years ago I started a regular once a week/month maintenance routine on my pc's. One of my tasks was to backup the registry on XP and copy it to a CD. Do you think it is worth doing that these days ? I have never had a problem with my registry in all my years of working on windows machines. (touches head - wood) |

| 878013 | 2010-04-19 06:09:00 | In the case of registry, it should be backed up and restored along with all other system state data. If you have conflicting versions of registry and other files you can get problems. So if you're going to backup the registry, it makes sense to backup everything else at the same time. System restore backs up the registry for you, and if your hard drive died you'd have to restore everything anyway. So I would say, either all or nothing. |
