I'm using TelstraClear adsl.

Thanks

878989 2010-04-21 22:34:00 I presume you mean your "internet" IP address rather then your local IP address.
+1 for bob_doe_nz or go to http://www.ipchicken.com/

878990 2010-04-21 22:41:00 Thanks folks. I used to know all this but my memory is attrocious.

Cheers.

[edit] dammit - it seems I have a static IP. It's a nuisance because I'm trying to log into a forum with a seperate username but it keeps identifying me by my original username. Ah, too bad too sad.

I doubt it is identifying you via IP. What if your IP wasn't static and it was allocated to someone else? Does that mean they assume your identity on the forum?

Yeah done that. Disconnected... cleared cookies, cache history etc, rebooted. It ain't vital. Who knows if they identify me by some other means. But I'm certain it comes down to having the static IP.

Anyway, all I wanted to do was play a small prank on another member, so it ain't important.

878993 2010-04-21 23:02:00 You can find out either way, access the forum through a proxy like www.vtunnel.com that will eliminate the IP as the issue. If you're still getting the problem delete your cookies :D WarNox (8772)

Already did the cookie delete thing. But vtunnel worked. Thanks. Now for some fun!
