878413 2010-04-20 07:27:00 I have a HP Compaq NX6120 from my uncles work that was playing up.
When I first got it I discovered that the ram slot below the keyboard was playing up so I swapped the ram to the slot on the bottom of the laptop and hey presto working laptop. That was a few weeks ago, turned it on today to install some programs and it froze on the HP Splash screen just like it did when the ram was in the top slot.
Any idea what can be causing it to do this?

878417 2010-04-20 10:02:00 Disable the splash screen in the BIOS save the settings. Then see what happens. Then you maybe able to see what its saying Speedy Gonzales (78)
878418 2010-04-20 10:48:00 Ok I have never heard of a fix like this. I got it to boot by pressing down on the top corners of the trackpad, if I release the pressure everything stops trackpad hard drive activity and keyboard, press down and everythihng goes again. nedkelly (9059)

878422 2010-04-20 20:28:00 it freezes first when the laptop is first turned on and when the two pressure points are not pressed nedkelly (9059)
