795819 2009-07-28 01:11:00 Going to Auckland 29th Oct, coming back 3rd Nov.

Gives us 2 days of immense boredom while everyone is at work.

Any budget suggestions on what to do? That preferably doesn't involve loads of money or travelling all over the place?

Having lived there I can't think of any that doesn't involve either one.....

795821 2009-07-28 01:17:00 Find some traffic to sit in and be thankful you live in the South Island? :)

I can't really think of anything to do in Auckland that doesn't involve spending copious amounts of dosh. :(

795822 2009-07-28 01:36:00 Take the ferry to Devonport and walk around and into the WW2 bunkers at North Head. Also the Navy Museum (http://www.navymuseum.mil.nz/), and your choice of cafe. Or does this constitute "travelling all over the place"? Strommer (42)

795827 2009-07-28 03:28:00 Devonport.........er...........Navy Museum doesn't interest me. Been to the bunkers.
It kind of does mean travelling cause my son lives in Henderson.

Although anywhere means travelling in Auckland really. Buses are a pathetic waste of time - don't suppose that's changed any.

Maybe we can scrounge someones car.

A PF1 get together. Hmm, now theres an idea.
Gxzs&^%%## with the unspellable username lives in West Auckland, I know that..........

795828 2009-07-28 03:40:00 +1 for the PF1 get together :)

Either that, or Tech Pac are in AK, you could go try and tour their warehouses, stacks and stacks of PC gear at wholesale pricing :D
