879040 2010-04-28 14:10:00 Yeah I could never play a game on multiple monitors, the screen edges would just annoy me... Agent_24 (57)
879041 2010-04-28 20:21:00 Nah the 2nd monitor is for other things while I am playing.
When they make a game that you can have all the interface on one screen and the game play window on another then that will be cool till then.....

As for the card, why do I have to need it, I want it that is enough.

879042 2010-04-29 01:21:00 I cant believe you just spent $1100 on 6mth old tech which you dont need for HD res on 1 screen, which is memory bandwidth starved at higher resolutions anyway.. SolMiester (139)
879043 2010-04-29 01:39:00 Closest too it performance wise is the new nVidia cards and since they are brand new tech I would prefer to wait till they are at least late Gen1 or early Gen2. Let someone else test them.

Besides when I upgrade I get as close to the top as possible, that way I can upgrade other things like my screens which are a couple years old now without worrying about if the card can handle it.

879044 2010-04-29 02:15:00 It has 2 years from Paradigm.
It will be replaced by then without a doubt.

wouldn't you be better to spend $500 now, and $500 in a year's time? The card you buy in 1 years time will be faster than the $1000 card you buy today wouldn't it?

879045 2010-04-29 03:09:00 No
I spend to my budget and I spend what I wish.
Thats not really in debate here.

Price is not something that I really consider when making these decisions, there are more important considerations.

I upgrade everything rebuild the computer completely every 1.5 - 2 years. This just happens to be bigger than most upgrades so I decided to build a brand new comp this time around.

Some people buy flash cars, others spend a fortune on art, I spend my spare money on the computer.

879046 2010-04-29 07:01:00 of course, I'm the complete opposite; I've been using the same computer for almost 8 years (only upgraded the monitor, hard drive and ram)

Well, that and because I have no spare coin :)

879047 2010-04-29 11:25:00 Good on you, I say.

I know I'd never go outside again if I had that. I'd probably forget how to speak aswell, which (apart from the cash) is why I'll never let myself succumb to the build of my dreams.

Q6600 and 5770 here... does the job well enough for 16x10.

Yeah I agree, Although I'm sure their are monitors that can fit together that don't show the screen edges?
