I have no idea how to make it invisible, besides whats wrong with naming it

as for using not using my name etc, as my last name is that of a router brand, I have no intention of that anyway, and no before some smartarse says it my last name is not linksys

878437 2010-04-20 08:33:00 Oh well, what's wrong with nigel_d-link, nigel_smc, nigel_netgear... they all seem quite unique! Preferably something innocuous that won't invite strays to break in! Calling it SIS, JohnKey or Rodneys would all be subject to intruder attack. coldot (6847)

You can "hide" the SSID, but it isn't really invisible as such as it'll still be visible to people who look hard enough.

878441 2010-04-20 09:41:00 All my machines and network are lord of the rings characters. Mainly the network doesn't identify me, my house or anything like that. psycik (12851)

True - just use something like http://www.netstumbler.com/ and it is visible by default. There is virtually no security in hiding the SSID.

P.S my vote for SSID is "FUDBuster"
