2010-04-20 05:16:00 | There's only Install the software automatically, and install from a list or specific location, I do the second option and it only lets me click on a sub folder. Other than that, it says Don't search I will choose the driver to install, it comes up with Common hardware types, I click Next and click Have Disk, I point to the xp32 folder but it says Hardware not found | deno240 (13664) | |
2010-04-20 05:19:00 | Hmm right mouse on the nvnetbus file in that folder / install. See what happens | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2010-04-20 05:21:00 | Folder just refreshes.. That's all it does. | deno240 (13664) | |
2010-04-20 05:29:00 | You could be right. Other forums say that Nvidia chipset driver install doesnt inc the LAN drivers lol. Why would GB say it then lol. Umm, didnt it come with a CD?? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2010-04-20 05:38:00 | Nope, no CD.. The only CD I have is the windows xp one. | deno240 (13664) | |
2010-04-20 05:50:00 | It looks like Nvidia have screwed something up. This forum (forums.nvidia.com) it looks like some of their installs the 1000 info (its its a Gigabit LAN (thats meant to be in the inf (this is the file you can select thru device manager) is missing. Which may mean that if you're using a Gigabit switch you wont connect at 1000 (only 10/100). Is the LAN actually enabled in the BIOS? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2010-04-20 06:29:00 | Are there two lan ports on the motherboard by any chance? | Sweep (90) | |
2010-04-20 06:34:00 | No, I think the prob is, because the chipset is NVIDIA® GeForce 7025 / NVIDIA® nForce 630a GPU. And the LAN is Realtek RTL8211BL Gigabit Ethernet controller. By the looks of it, the LAN drivers on the site dont include the LAN drivers. And other forums / sites have the same prob. People cant find the drivers (and most of the other mobos people have, also have Nvidia chipsets). There's info about rtl8211bl, on the Realtek site, but there's no driver downloads | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2010-04-20 09:25:00 | No there's not two LAN ports. I have this problem as had to reinstall windows xp (Again), I've done this before and downloaded the chipset/LAN from the gigabyte website, but this is the first time I'm having trouble with it. I'm in the bios menu, went into Integrated Peripherals and theres Onboard LAN boot ROM, it had said disabled... Not sure what that is? I've changed it to Enabled but haven't saved it yet until I know whether it's the right thing to do or not.
