796013 2009-07-29 06:56:00 ... and Wii ...?Don't buy Wii in China. My Mum and Dad were going to buy one for us when they visited China last year, but were told that only Chinese zoned games will work with it, so they brought us one at the duty free store in Auckland. pine-o-cleen (2955)

@ninjabear - I have a friend I am going with who is from HK but hasnt been back for a few years. He has told me that I am NOT ALLOWED to go shopping without him. He reckons if you dont bargain, you're not shopping. He believes it's a sin to pay the ticket price! LOL

796015 2009-07-29 10:27:00 It depends where you buy and what you price but I feel anything you buy in ghong kong is cheaper than here even a NZ Plug Adaptor. They cost $0.50 cents. It's about $20 at dicksmith. I can have it sent from hong kong and save $1. I know a place in shum shui po that sells mobiles at good pricing but the problem is that they don't speak english so it'll be very hard to communicate thats unless I can ask my father to take you there.lol

If you give me a model of a mobile I can tell you the prices.

If you really unsure about something then you can PM me. We can talk about it

Be careful of your wallet and keep inside your pocket with a zip.

There's a shopping mall called "Golden" (or something like that) where there are 100+ computer & electronics shops, all under one roof -just like Sim Lim Square in Singapore. Been there many years ago, I think it is still there.

Thats very unethical of him to say that. There are things that you cant bargain and you will likely to find that the shop will simply say just buy elsewhere instead .

It depends what kind of product your buying. If your buying official stuff there's no bargaining and if you moan about the pricing etc they'll probably tell you to buy somewhere else since there's alot of customers and they won't spend time sorting out pricing for you. Either buy it or leave thats what he'll say

Yup, don't go into a duty free shop and bargain lol.
But generally shopping for electronic stuff for what the item may cost nominally the price you may get in NZ parallel import or via trademe the diff isn't that big but if you are heading there maybe you can have a look. It may also eat into your travel time if you have a busy schedule.
