| 795979 | 2009-07-28 21:22:00 | I have a friend and business partner. He does not like it if I ever criticize him Terrible combination. Shortly he will stop being your friend or your partner or both. Is the criticism justified? All the time? Occasionally? Maybe you just can't work together. Or maybe one of you is right and the other totally wrong. Either way it's doomed. |

It seems that in general most of you agree with me that you should be able to offer constructive critism to a friend or business partner , providing it is done in a sensitive manner. PCTek, yes I think the critisicm is justified most of the time. But I admit that I am not perfect, and we all need to improve. Keep the comments coming if you wish. |

| 795982 | 2009-07-28 23:44:00 | Hi Guys I have a friend and business partner. He does not like it if I ever criticize him even when it is polite and constructive. He says that he never criticizes me, so why do I crititze him ? Is this attitude common or normal ? Its not uncommon. Friends do not always make good business partners because it is an entirely different relationship. Many businesses break apart for that reason. Try to make positive suggestions and avoid giving the other person the feeling they are being criticised. The reality might be that because you are familiar with each other, anything you say will be discounted. To get over that, ideas need to come from someone else - accountant, bank manager, business mentor. |
