| 795516 | 2009-07-27 07:33:00 | You weren't allowed to dream? Luxury. We were forced to dream. More like nightmares actually. Our dad used to take us to the mortuary and make us stare at corpses for 23 1/2 hours a day. And then we'd have to re-enact the causes of death. That wasn't very pleasant or conducive to a good half hour sleep. |

We had to kill ourselves every morning at 5 o-clock and do corpse duty for 8 hours, then go down to the crematorium, stoke the fires, throw on the corpses and jump in after them. After that we had to lick the road clean for 22 hours, do 12 hours holding the power lines up and then report dead; sharp at 5 am. That was the good job, you wouldn't want to know about our second or third jobs because they were a bit unpleasant. |

One you can add - If your mother said " you just Wait till your father gets Home" --- you knew you were in for it .. GULP!! One funny Event I will Always remember, I was about 5 or 6 -- Massive flood, Water up to my waist, brother and his mates rowing up and down the street in their canoes. Mum yelling out to get out of the water - and I replied " Its ok I got my gumboots on".:D |
