795305 2009-09-17 07:38:00 So no relation to inflation then,why bother with 1/2%?

In a way that is totally foreign and obviously out of character for me - I was exercising sarcasm . I shouldda let you know .

The Social Security pay-raise increases have historically been somewhat less than the national corrected-for-inflation average, but they usually are around 5-6% or so yearly . For those who are so inclined, that means about two more packages of cigarettes a month . A BIG Whoopie-Doo!

THIS is the year of NO INCREASE, but also NO DECREASE either as I am sure the older boys (older than I) would rally their wheelchairs and crutches to the White House and block the in-egress of Obamaramadama and his entourage with demands, burning effigies and bonfires driving back the Northern darkness; enough to make Oden jealous!

That might have to take a back seat to the OTHER protesting rallies in DC concerning the pending US version of the National Health and what it would do to the general population .

Get this: The Feds want to fine anyone up to $970/yearly for single persons and $2,240/yearly for a married couple if the DON'T buy into the US/NH program! (NO official word yet on unmarried persons of questionable sexual or species preferences or sleeping arrangements . )

How's that gonna work? Rich people can afford the fines and go to Sweden or Taiwan or Canada for their surgeries - but the trench-dwellers who cannot afford the surgeries let alone the airfare, will have to pay fines if they don't buy the insurance . :horrified

I bet this is modeled after the Mafia "Protection" rackets! :groan:

BTW: Rich people do NOT go to England for surgeries - wonder why? :yuck:

795309 2009-09-17 16:40:00 Don't know if you have any idea what Loma Linda Medical Center is, but it's full of Paki and Indian doctors and medical practitioners and I have had nothing but excellent results from them - more so than some Caucasian doctors with attitudes.

I've had several surgeries with them as either attending or operating surgeons, and there have been no complications or errors on their behalf.

Quite frankly - I find them dedicated and resourceful and very kindly in their bedside manner.
