| 795189 | 2009-07-25 23:50:00 | People still use floppies? Well I'll be #%$@X 'ed. Yes I was using them quite a lot until very recently when swapping programs, data, etc with friends. So much faster and more convenient than CDs etc. But sadly my main computer has crashed its floppy drive so can no longer be used. I still have one laptop with a 3.5 drive and I noticed some time ago one of our Dick Smiths had 3.5 drives available. Its the flash drive that has really killed them for me - but of course I cannot afford to give flash drives away like I did with the floppies. I am waiting to see if we get flash drives selling at about a $1 - which I reckon could be done now if only the manufacturers etc could forget massive profits for a moment or two. Tom |

| 795193 | 2009-07-26 07:27:00 | How many here ever had a LS120 drive. Sold a few way back when but they never really caught on. I still use floppy discs, mainly when a RAID driver is required to install server 2003 or SBS2003. |

| 795195 | 2009-07-26 07:48:00 | I don't get the joke It's not a joke -- many people still use 3.5" floppy disc's. Hence the covers. Lots of people also think they are dead and no longer used, but they are still used. |

| 795196 | 2009-07-26 07:58:00 | I use them when updating Bios as at the moment it often is easier than trying to do it on USB especially for older comps | gary67 (56) | ||
