| 795014 | 2009-07-26 10:09:00 | A lot of people paid by Direct Credit to C1 computers, before they disappeared, and they ended up losing their money. Therefore I would recommend people who buy computer parts, pay by Credit card. It is worth it for the piece of mind, as you will get your money back if the company went under. You don't know what sort of financial situation a company is in, in todays financial climate. Plus IMHO Ascents 1.5% discount for DC over CC isn't enough incentive, as they would pay at least 2-3% to the CC transaction company, for each CC transaction. Ascent are however a good company taht has been around for ages, but many people thought C1 were too. Exactly right! What airline would that be? QANTAS (ANZ Visa) - the disadvantage is that I have to fly with QANTAS - although there are other airlines in the same group also... |

That is what I was told by my bank when appling for a merchant account, certainly there was no scenario for under 2%. You then pay DPS or the processor you choose on top of the commission. Commission rates are very hush hush, so I wouldn't be surprised if the very large comapnies could get better rates. |

(and more importantly, how do the points compare to actual $$?) I have a Thoroughbred Visa with National Bank, which gives $1 cash back for every $100 spent using the card - being cash, it is more flexible than being limited to purchasing flights, or redeeming Fly Buys rewards, or whatever. |

Don't know what #'s are,but I like the sound of your National bank thing, will look into that. |

I got economy flights (return) for two to Frankfurt in 2006 (about 7 years worth of points!!). The difference between the ANZ QANTAS and BNZ Global Plus (when I took the card originally) was that the QANTAS points did not expire. BNZ may have changed that now though, although I do recall that they devalued their points at some point too, which QANTAS haven't done. Hoping to get across to the Beerfest in Munich next year on points too - it's the two hundredth anniversary of the Beerfest. Party! Party! Party! :clap:thumbs:  |
