878314 2010-04-20 04:35:00 Hi Team

The new computer is humming along now and all is peaceful, apart from occasional snivelling noises from the pensioned off box that is feeling neglected. Umm...yes, but the new kid on the block won't detect the mouse at boot if I plug it into either of the front of case USB outlets, how odd is that?

Anyway, I've always sent and replied to emails using plain text only, no bells, no whistles, but I'll be damned if I can see where to change to plain text in 2003. It was just a couple of clicks in 2000, but now I can't find it for looking.

I've tried the help file, which was of no assistance, and Google as well but to no avail. Am I condemned to HTML emails forever or is there something simple I am missing here?

Cheers

Seem to have the email fixed now using the advice given, I'd trolled through that area already but it didn't seem to apply.

MB is Asus P7P55D EVO. CPU is Intel Core i5 750@2.67GHz according to Device Manager. Video card is radeon HD5700 and PSU is Corsair HX650W.

Not being a gamer, this box is again intended for reliability, not speed. Compared to the old PIII 166 and Intel 440BX with integrated graphics it is blindingly fast, so I should be able to make mistakes faster than I can fix them now.

Can't believe how quiet it is either.

Box was built by Computer Lounge and I was impressed by their approach and advice .

The ports do work ok, just the mouse isn't detected at boot . It is not a problem because it should be plugged into a rear port and is now anyway, but I'm curious as to why it wasn't detected .

How do I check the bios version number?

Cheers

Easiest way, turn it on / when the post screen stuff comes up press pause, it'll show a 4 digit number (after BIOS version) a few lines down from the top left of the screen (after the award / whatever stuff). Its also in the BIOS, but I dont know where it is on yours
