2009-07-28 08:43:00 | Sold me a 110v Canadian printer (bought for friend). Had an adapter on it, not a power converter and guess what, it was fried. Claimed to have purchased it from another TM member but oh look, no printer purchase on any of his feedbacks. I rang Canon to confirm its specs, yep, 110v. Denied everything of course, accused my friend/me of breaking it and suggested as a tech I "should get a real job". It wasn't expensive, just the attitude of some people........

2009-07-28 08:46:00 | You seem to have had more than your fair share of bad luck with Trademe sellers pctek - maybe you should stick to reputable sources for gear, and save yourself the stress. | somebody (208) | |

2009-07-28 09:58:00 | First thing you look at is feedbacks. I have found feedback is meaningless. The chainsaw ripoff used his sons lovely feedback name instead. This printer guy had perfect feedback. They all do until the first bad feedback. While it can help, it doesn't work as well as it was intended to. And anyone who has had a bad trade knows you get retaliatory bad feedback if you do place it - spite feedback. So a lot of people chicken out and won't do it.

2009-07-28 10:35:00 | I've used it a few times with very satisfying results (so far). Much better luck than Lotto where I seem to specialise in unlucky dips to the tune of $20.00 or so a year. Chiselers.

2009-07-28 10:40:00 | Thankfully I've never run across a seller like that. The most bitter one I had was with a dumbass of a buyer who bought my old 8800GT without asking whether or not it was compatible with a PCI slot. Obviously it wasn't and he demanded a refund. I refused, he gave me a neutral. And those sellers selling second hand items at over 90% (a few even at over 100%) of their new price and insist they are 'great value computer parts'.:groan:

I've sold a couple of 2nd hand items at close to retail price before - the buyer was happy, and I was happy. |

2009-07-28 11:19:00 | Unfortunately the rating system there us utter crap. People are afraid to post bad feedback for fear of getting a bad rating themselves, so I know somebody who will at best give a "neutral" rating. What's the freaking point of giving a rating in the first place?!
