880203 2010-04-26 15:11:00 Hey guys,
I was wondering if there was something I could do to stop a standby once initiated. Is there a command I could run to interrupt the windows standby procedure?

I have Xp-sp3.

880204 2010-04-26 15:56:00 Nope. Interrupting a process like that isn't a smart idea anyway, as it could destabilise your system unless done *very* carefully.

That said, why would you need to anyway? Just hit the power button once it finishes and it'll wake straight back up. And next time you go to put it in standby, make sure that's really what you want first...

Oh and welcome to PressF1 :D.

im curious to know how you expecting to issue a command, since standy should happen instaneously after you request it

Which reminds me of the old MSDOS days where if you issued a "Format C:" you got asked are you sure, are you really sure, are you really really sure etc.

It's why I renamed the format command on my PC so format could not run with silent piped switches via a batch file.

Bloody computers.
They will keep doing what the user asks for some strange reason.
