880077 2010-04-26 08:59:00 Hi Guys

I have been running some Speedtest.Net tests on my system.

Should the results be the same at any time of the day, or are they dependent on normal traffic eg busier at night etc than say early in the morning ?

880078 2010-04-26 09:05:00 Probably be different in the mornings and at night. Because of traffic / congestion Speedy Gonzales (78)
880079 2010-04-26 09:06:00 It depends on the amount of traffic on the network. Sweep (90)
880080 2010-04-26 09:17:00 I'll give you a private one of mine running on a VPS, no matter what it *always* gets awesome speeds (From other 100m/bit connections, I've tested between VPS's and get around 80m/bit constantly)

Will PM you the URL.

If its slowing down still with mine, throughout the day, then I'd initially suggest that it's exchange-level congestion. You on an ADSL2+ Exchange or Cabinet?

880081 2010-04-26 09:39:00 Speedtest.net is near worthless, its only single source. If any of the hops are slow to what ever Speedtest.net server your result will look bad, even though your speed to 1 million+ other sites may be great!.

But looks pretty and people believe it!
