879670 2010-04-24 08:17:00 Looking for an easy to use software package for a tuner card Hauppauge hvr 1100, bought second hand so can't use wintv as it needs the original CD which I don't have so looking for a free alternative :thanks gary67 (56)
879671 2010-04-24 08:18:00 What version of windows? If you're using Win7, see if Media Center picks up the channels. And tunes it in. Have you got the drivers for it? Speedy Gonzales (78)

879673 2010-04-24 09:15:00 If you are in an area where you can get Freeview|HD, GBPVR and mediaportal should both work ok, although you may need to find a compatible H.264 decoder.

If you want analoge, you will have to find a (mce) compatible MPEG 2 encoder/decoder (I don't think the HVR-1100 is hardware based). You can then use GBPVR or MediaPortal.

879675 2010-04-24 10:54:00 GB-PVR gets my vote

Mediaportal is also good but I could never get it working, and it wants to install a lot of stuff that GB-PVR doesn't, like SQL server etc.
