Remember the fat man who ran up such enormous taxi fares up north - rewarded with appointment to High Commissioner in London. Bigger trough. They all have their nose in the trough. |

| 797090 | 2009-08-01 04:44:00 | I don't think Bill English deserves too much blame for this. He's simply taking the maximum he is entitled to, which most people in this world do. It's better to look to the laws that allow compensation for living in a house you or an associated person control (eg perhaps allow a significantly reduce level of payments for a minister living in a house he, his wife, or his trust owns). Few people will willingly refuse money they're entitled to because they think they perhaps shouldn't be. That's not to say that it's totally 100% right for him to claim the money, but it's certainly not 100% wrong either. |

That fat man also ran up via the tax payer $14,000 on wine while he was High Commissioner as well as that $21,000 on taxis |
