| 796789 | 2009-07-31 05:56:00 | Seems kinda pointless. The latest tech, being used to run a very obsolete software. But... That's the point! I have a windows 98 VM floating around on my laptop, as well as DOS 6, windows 3.1, linux 0.9, and a few others. I also emulate consoles (SNES, NES, N64, PS1 and even PS2), both on my PC and xbox (except the PS2). A while back I even tried (without success) to get linux to run on my modchipped PS1. I still run linux on my xbox every now and then. That's my idea of fun. Making everyday tech jump through hoops, it gives that feeling of being smarter than the average consumer. Don't know why, don't care. Just like this (hackaday.com) is really pointless, but a hell of a lot of fun in getting it working. |
