Not only Bill English, I'm sure. If that is the case, probably none of those politicians will be in the beehive; it will be haunted. :D:D

797118 2009-08-02 11:04:00 If we cannot accept that MPs should be well paid and receive employment incentives - then only rich people will ever be able to go to Parliament.

That's not it at all, Getting paid an allowance to live in your family home wouldn't be accepted within any other structure, why should it be allowed for our politicians?

797119 2009-08-03 00:54:00 We speak of their entitlements and therefore let them have them, but who says they are entitled to all those perks like 90% off flight all round the world for ever, what rot to think that is fair. Cicero (40)
797120 2009-08-03 01:36:00 I dont know if you lot really understand the hours a MP does!....At least 75 p/wk.....If they have to live in Welly, and dont have a house there, I have no problem with taxpayer providing it...I would say however, that it would perhaps be better to provide homes for them so at least the taxpayer has something out of it at the end of the day.....
I would rather pay for the MP's than the solo mum and unemployed...at least these guys are doing something for the money!!

The entire point of the conversation is that he has a house in Wellington.

The hours worked are irrelevant, they know the scope of the position when they sign up, The fact is that any employer has to provide accommodation when sending employees out of town, But no employer is going to be retarded enough to pay someone to stay in their own house.

That would only happen when its taxpayers money being wasted.

If the conceited sods were even a little clued up they should be able to make the current number of stupid decisions in half an hour per month. Wise decisions currently are extinct, so no time required there.:banana :banana

If every MP had to wear an electric dog collar, and every voter had a remote, it wouldn't just be Rodney dancing with the sparks.
