796312 2009-07-30 04:29:00 Yeah, Im still wondering which is the lesser of the 2 evils.

Problem was something with their 3G network as when I switched my phone over to 2g it worked fine. Also guys with only 2G phones in the office were not having a problem.

Maybe the work experience guy pulled out the wrong cable...who knows?

Not really, the XT network is a totally new modern network, and Telecom appear to have refreshed their attitude. eg. You don't have to pay $1 to talk to a customer service person, like you do with Vodafone, which I think stinks, especially as they ignore emails too. XT is largely NZ owned by NZ mum and dad shareholders, while Vodafone is UK owned, so all it's profits are sent back to the UK, instead of staying inside NZs economy.

796313 2009-07-30 04:31:00 I'm hopeful things will be better on 2degrees next month, but again who knows? :D

2 Degrees is largely owned by a HongKong or US company, I think they have just sold it recently. It is also partly owned by an iwi. They will also be just trying to make as much profit as they can from it, so I wouldn't expect to see much difference in terms of pricing. THey maybe like 40c per minute, instead of .49c you are on prepay.

You still spouting this bullshit even though I showed you that New Zealanders own sod all of Telecom shares. Give it up it is mainly Australian owned.

796315 2009-07-30 09:30:00 The Vodem that I swear at a lot is on Vodafone's (lack of) service, but the system would have to crash in a fairly major fashion before it appeared as more than just another glitch - pause - drop-out - or whatever it continually experiences. Still, 4 hours would be an unusually long ping time even for a vodem.

At least it's not Telecom.

Thats is incorrect, because at least 40% is owned by NZers, as shown in their share registrar . That is 'at least 40%', and is is probably in excess of 60%, because I think you will find that these Australian companies that do managed funds, buy the shares on behalf of their NZ clients .

At least 40% is hardly sod all . NZ could benefit from 40% of Vodafones profits . NZ needs billions of dollars pumping into the economy, to stop it being stripped of wealth .

You need to do some more homework because that forty percent you talk about if you follow the ownership through, those companies are all owned by Australian companies with one part owned by an American company so once again stop the bullshit because New Zealanders own sod all of Telecom. As for your sixty percent figure, that is just complete supposition on your part. For all you know there could be as many New Zealanders hold Vodafone shares as Telecom shares.
As I posted in another thread

TELECOM CORPORATION OF NEW ZEALAND LIMITED
Shares 1,862,095,832
Of those 1,372,720,361 are owned by overseas companies, mainly Australian and there could be a few kiwis investing in them.
That leaves 489,375,471 shares for which I can't ascertain ownership.
Which ever way you look at it Kiwi's own stuff all of Telecom.

796321 2009-07-31 09:23:00 I believe they switched to Holden, and almost immediately had to pull of the track with an attack of sluggishness. R2x1 (4628)
