796159 2009-07-29 22:30:00 PJ Cardizem (Diltiazem) is a calcium channel blocker used for treatment of hypertension. Useful patient information is available from websites run by Mayo Clinic (USA) and Patient UK. These sites help understanding of the medication prescribed as so often we have forgotten what the GP explained by the time us oldies get home. I find them a useful resource and non-frightening to an amateur. Cheers. :) Richard (739)

I do that as well, & my problem (Wet Wind) is not there. I was on Cardizem some years ago & the same thing happened. Diltiazem, in its own name has been withdrawn, so others who were on it must have moved to something else. Our GP is looking for a replacement. Still..... PJ

Mystery here - I am still on Diltiazem and have been for years.
The only side effect being that I am still alive - despite two heart attacks and some mini strokes.
I also use a spray which works well.

I had to go to cardizam 2 months ago when I got my 3 month renewal prescription. You might find the same for you. Yes I use the red Nitro spray bottle, in my pocket at the moment along with my Help Button. PJ

796163 2009-08-01 09:06:00 I have been taking a 180mg capsule of Cardizem, along with Betaloc and Cartia for the past 7 years with no side effects, on the recomendation of a Cardiac Specialist after I had a heart attack and had some stents inserted.
No harm in asking others who take it but each individual needs to get specialist advice on these drugs.
