| 879536 | 2010-04-24 03:42:00 | I have a HL2040. Of recent weeks it has been putting a dark smudge down the left hand side of the A4 page, it is not continuous, so may be associated with a drum or roller. It is ok with A5. I have cleaned the drum and the scanner window with no improvement. At the rear of the machine there is a red sponge roller, that has a black mark on it in about the right place. How should I clean this, and what with? I am obviously reluctant to have the machine cleaned as this would probably cost much the same as a new machine. An example, a new drum costs about $10 more than I can buy a new printer for! Brucem |
